The Holy New Martyr Argyrie of Prusa.
The Holy New Martyr Argyrie of Prusa was of pious family, being very fair of face and a fearer of God. While still newly married, she became the object of a certain Turk’s desire, who tried to compel her to become a Moslem, and upon her refusal told the judge she had said she intended to become a Moslem. The case was taken to Constantinople, where she was unjustly imprisoned for fifteen years. To her bonds she added long fasts and prayers; and when her holy relics were recovered three years after her repose, they were found incorrupt and fragrant.
